Nesting on a Cold Cloudy Fall Day

Nothing makes me want to nest and bake like a cold rainy fall day.  School let out early today and I was itching to get home and put on some hot soup and bake bread.

I started by putting on a pot of butter beans with ham and then I stirred up a batch of corn bread.

I made a pan of light rolls from my light roll recipe...and 2 loaves of bread from a recipe that I found on

http://simplysogood.blogspot.com/2012/10/anadama-bread.html

We are planning on eating more healthy and this recipe has whole wheat and corn meal in it...very filling and very good.

While I was baking, I wanted  a nice warm drink to sip on so I put on a couple  of cups of Apple Cider and  made some mulled spiced cider...oh how I wish you could smell the hot breads baking, the butter bean and ham soup cooking, and the steaming hot mulled spice cider that I am sipping on.
mmmm hot light roll with butter and spiced apple butter.......Oh, I am so glad that school got out early and that it is a cold and rainy day!

I plan to do some needle felting on a hat that I knitted and felted back in the summer...to wear to Wyatt's football game tomorrow night...temps are dropping and I want to be warm sitting in the stands cheering for the Trenton Bulldogs.

God bless you all.

  2. You have me sitting here with my mouth watering... ;-) Our day time temps are supposed to be in the 50's next week, so soup and freshly baked bread might be on our menu. :-)
