Blessed with Rain

Last night we received 0.8 of rain.  And I know we will get more soon...and the temps are below a 100 today.  Yesterday I looked at our indoor/outdoor thermometer and it read 111 degrees.    I have been singing my praise to the Lord all morning.
Another thing that has me happy and relieved is:  the west counter top is on and I can start putting some of my things back in order...my little kitchen is getting back to normal.  Not there all the way but I don't have kitchen drawers stacked up in my dining room and my dining room table is starting to look like a dining room table.  I have hated having my home all torn up but I knew when we were done that I would be a happy woman.  My country kitchen has always been the center of my home...even though this kitchen is very small.  But for the most part, it is just the right size for me and Danny.

Some of my hens and roosters collection has been put back on the shelves and on the walls.  Many of my chicken collection have been gifts from family and friends over the year.  They knew that I loved my chickens just as my Grandma Cooper had a few chickens in her kitchen.

The new counter top on the west side of the kitchen is in place and I can roll out a pie dough or make biscuits for breakfast now.  My kitchen is a very simple little kitchen but I do love to spend time in it making foods that my family loves.  I also like to stand at the window where I can see the birds, the cattle, and the sun set in the evening.

More chickens...Wayne and Angie got this clock for me.

Years ago, I traded a painting for this cross stitch picture.  I know how much time my friend invested in making this for me and it will always have a place in my chicken.

It sure feels good to start putting things back where they belong.

I bought these curtains to hang in the kitchen but I think I will continue to look for the ones that are meant to hang in my kitchen.

I still do not have these plates hung on the wall yet...hopefully soon.

Danny is tired today, after lunch he laid down and had just fell to sleep when his brother  James knocked on the door and wanted him to go help move haying equipment North of Winigan.  I know when he gets home that he will eat and get him a nap...hopefully.

Dear God, My Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the rain last night.  Thank you for blessing this home and this little farm and its animals.  I continue to ask you to lift this drought not just for us but everyone in this world.  Lord, you are a loving father and I pray for those that don't know you that they will come to love you too.
In Jesus Name I pray,
Amen

May the Lord bless you and protect you.  May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.  May the Lord show you His favor and give you his peace.  Numbers 6:24-26

  2. Thank you. I agree, one room at a time. This remodel is taking lots longer than planned. We have had to stop and hay and I have been down with an infection.
