May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields and, Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Danny and I pray that the luck of the Irish blessed you today. We had a very quiet day here. No corn beef, no cabbage, no ale, not even the wearing of the green. We spent a very quiet day here, waiting on cows to have calves and sheep to have lambs. Fed them all and put out the hay. Wind is howling on this hill and we have snow spitting with temps of 31 degrees.

Dandy's mom, Sugar has mastitis and she does not have enough milk to feed the big boy. Dandy is now a week old. He was born on a harsh night in the rain and snow. We moved him and his mom inside the barn the first few days. Sugar had a vet visit and so far so good. |

The snow has melted and it has rained...the pond is almost full....we feel very blessed. |
We plan to shear the sheep on Tuesday. That way we will be able to tell more when the ewe plans to lamb and also helps the baby lambs find the utter better.
Now I shall travel memory lane...bear with me.

I was born and raised in Purdin, Mo. The Purdin Mercantile had everything, it was Walmart way before its time. The building is still standing and filled with antiques and junk now but the whole town shopped at the Purdin Mercantile when I was a kid. Farmers came into town on Saturday nights to shop. They could buy paint, plumbing supplies, groceries to women's dresses, sewing supplies, men's suits, wedding gifts, baby gifts...you name it, they had it! Do you ever yearn for the good old days...simpler lives?
